I would grab my first guitar I ever got which is a MIM Fender Stratocaster that I’ve modified quite a bit over the years.

There’s a fine line between wasting time, and ensuring that every rock gets turned over.
THE take induces a feeling that tells you it’s right; it’s a sound rooted in perfection.
After going on tour with them, I’d love to record the Toadies.
Mark Randall is the owner and audio engineer at Blackstone Studio. His love for recording began in 2013 when his band from the University of North Texas experienced January Sound in Dallas. From that point on, Mark knew his career path had moved from musician to engineer. By the end of the next year, he had earned his degree in Advanced Audio Recording from the Recording, Radio and Film Connection after spending many hours at January Sound with the legendary Rick Rooney.
Mark began his recording career in 2014 at SG Studios in White Settlement, Texas where he remained for two years. He formed his own production company in 2016 and shortly thereafter became the Lead Production Manager at Main at South Side (MASS) where he served until it closed in 2022. During that time, he and MASS were recognized for setting the standard for live music in Fort Worth.
In 2022, Mark returned to his roots by opening Blackstone, a unique recording studio serving Fort Worth and the North Texas music community. Blackstone is designed to offer the “best of the best” by combining a live room capable of recording full bands of virtually any size with two isolation rooms. It offers classic analog recording with state of the art digital technology. Quality instruments are available, or you are welcome to bring what you are most comfortable with. The focus is on you the artist with the goal of bringing to life your vision for your project. That’s why Mark’s first step in every project is to listen to you and understand your goals.
Mark remains plugged into the world of live music, notably as audio engineer for the Live at the Omni series, the Printed Threads Showroom Sounds series, shows at The Cicada and other local venues as well as touring with The Toadies.
For 2023 and 2024, the Fort Worth Weekly recognized Blackstone for music production and Mark for audio engineer.
Blackstone looks forward to serving the music community for many years to come.
