Sure sure, singles are easy. They’re quick dopamine. One and done. Upload it Friday, maybe land a playlist by Monday. But here’s the thing: music isn’t supposed to be disposable. It’s not a TikTok soundbite or a Spotify algorithm slot machine. It’s a body of work. A story you believe is worth tellin.
So hear me out: I miss albums. The kind you listen to start to finish on a long drive. The kind that holds together like a short film for your ears. Albums take vision. They take guts. They take artists who aren’t just chasing listens but building something worth living inside for a while.
I’m not anti-single. They have their place. (And we record a lot of them!) But if you’re an artist with something to say, I want you to say the whole thing. Don’t give us a trailer when you’ve got a full feature in you.
Singles are designed to grab attention. Albums are built to hold it.
Take me track by track.
